About this gift
Runes are the letters of an old alphabet once used by Germanic peoples, and today many readers draw them for reflection and divination. This set is made from fancy jasper and comes in its own pouch, a welcoming first set for a beginner.
Count 25 stones in all: 24 marked with a rune symbol and one without. The blank stone is part of many modern rune sets and is read as a rune of its own. Fancy jasper is a natural stone, so each stone is unique, and colour and pattern vary from set to set.
Nobody knows exactly where runes began. Some believe they were first used between 2000 BC and 100 AD by tribes such as the Goths and other Germanic tribes. Drawing a stone from the pouch keeps that old tradition close at hand, in a set that is simple to keep together and easy to learn with.
A good gift for: rune readers, divination beginners, pagan friends, crystal collectors.
