About this piece
A handmade brass singing bowl set with a cushion and wood stick, this Medicine Buddha bowl comes ready for meditation fans and beginners. It is a thoughtful gift for anyone drawn to Tibetan tradition.
Bowl, cushion and wood stick make up the set. The bowl is brass, measures 13 x 8 cm and is handmade in Nepal by traditional artisans. Use the wood stick to make the bowl sing: the sides and rim vibrate to produce sound, as a singing bowl is really a type of bell. It takes practice to master. The set comes in a box.
Tibetan tradition dates the singing bowl to the time of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni, and says it travelled from India to Tibet in the 8th century. The Medicine Buddha is Sangye Menla in Tibetan. Make your first bowl sing with this Medicine Buddha singing bowl set.
Great for: meditation beginners, buddhist tradition fans, singing bowl collectors, yoga lovers.
