About this piece
Tarot Chimera gives you tarot cards with dreamlike Symbolist art by Odilon Redon, a deck for beginners and advanced readers. Redon (1840–1916) was a French Symbolist who explored dreams and the inner mind.
83 cards in all, each with gold gilt edging. The seventy-eight Major and Minor Arcana cards follow the Rider-Waite-Smith structure, and five auxiliary cards sit alongside: the Chimera enhances the Major archetypes, the Muse relates to Cups (water), the Loci to Pentacles (earth), the Trickster to Wands (fire) and Imagination to Swords (air). The card meanings are non-gender-specific. The kit measures 142 x 194 x 52 mm.
Gift a tarot beginner a first deck with Redon's art, or give a seasoned reader something new to read with. The full-colour guidebook covers a brief biography of Redon, guidance on how to magically consecrate the deck, suggested traditional spreads and full-page card interpretations. Shuffle Tarot Chimera and lay your first spread from its guidebook.
Great for: tarot beginners, advanced tarot readers, Odilon Redon art fans, Symbolist art lovers.
