About this piece
Neroli essential oil comes from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree, and it smells similar to bergamot. This 10 ml pure oil suits anyone who likes to scent a room with an oil burner, or who collects essential oils for ritual use.
Hand-gathered blossoms of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium var. amara), also known as Neroli bigarade, are distilled to make the oil. Only the flowers are used, and they must be plucked just as they bloom. Use it in an oil burner. It is not for eating, drinking or putting on skin.
Anna Maria Orsini, princess of Nerola, used the essence of the bitter orange tree in 1680 to perfume her gloves and her bath, and the oil has been called neroli ever since. Folk tales add that the orange blossoms decorated bridal beds. It is a fragrant, story-rich gift for a friend who loves aromatic oils.
