About this piece
Dark green with flecks of red: that is bloodstone, a rare variety of chalcedony. These African tumble stones, also known as Sephtonite, come as a bag of 12 medium stones or a bag of 24 small ones. They suit collectors and anyone who likes a stone of courage.
Red iron oxide makes the markings, which can be spots, stripes or bold splashes, and can be dark or almost invisible. Every stone is one of a kind, so colour and pattern vary. The medium stones measure approximately 25 to 45 mm and can be carried or displayed in a workspace.
Bloodstone has long been called a stone of courage and winners. Choose the medium bag for larger stones to carry or display, or the small bag of 24 to build a bigger collection.
A good gift for: crystal collectors, tumble stone fans, people who like courage stones, mineral collectors.
