## About this gift

Banded agate gives this rune set its look: 25 stones for anyone starting rune casting or adding to a divination collection. Runes are symbols marked on stones and used in readings.

Twenty-four stones carry a rune symbol and one is blank. They are banded agate, kept in a cotton printed pouch. Each agate stone is unique, so colour and banding vary from one to the next.

Rune stones are believed by some to have been used by Germanic tribes such as the Goths, from around 2000 BC to 100 AD, though nobody can be sure where they began. A set in a pouch is a clear start for a first reading.
