## About this gift

Gentle, echoing notes ring out from a light tap on this red steel tongue drum. A tongue drum is a round metal drum with tuned tongues, each one playing its own note. It is made for beginners as well as experienced players who want a portable drum.

At 16 cm, it is small enough to take travelling or to a workshop. The tongues respond well to light strikes with the included mallets, so simple melodies come without any musical knowledge, and the sound is warm and consistent. A bold red finish and an engraved Om symbol give it a clean look, and a carry bag keeps it stored between sessions.

The Om is a sacred sound and symbol in Hindu and Buddhist tradition, often chanted at the start of meditation. The drum fits naturally into a meditation space, a yoga studio or mindful home décor, and makes a joyful first instrument.
