## About this gift

Bastet, the cat goddess of Ancient Egypt, inspired this cat skull figurine. It is cast in resin and then hand-painted, and it has a natural, realistic look. It is made for anyone who honours Bastet, collects Egyptian art or loves a gothic touch at home.

There is no real bone here: the skull is resin, painted by hand to look natural and real. It is an ornament for display, a piece of devotional or decorative art.

Bastet was first celebrated as a lioness goddess, a role she shared with the deity Sekhmet. In time the two were seen as two sides of one goddess: Sekhmet the warrior, and Bastet, shown as a cat, the gentler and more nurturing side. The skull is a way to pay homage to her, a quiet tribute for every cat lover who knows her story.
