## About this item

This ancient spells book brings long-ago incantations to today's reader, with verses adapted from grimoires, letters and trial transcripts. Enid Baxter Ryce painstakingly researched the collection, finding fragments from across the centuries. It suits witches and anyone curious about folklore and divination.

Running to 208 pages, with 32 black and white illustrations, it is a book to dip into one spell at a time. The paperback measures 127 x 178 x 15 mm and was published on 21 May 2026 by Red Wheel/Weiser.

Spells were once whispered, chanted or carved in stone, and their words still echo like a song. The verses here come from what survived: papyrus scraps, pottery shards and secret books. Start with the spell that calls to you in Ancient Spells and Incantations.
